600 DPI - High-Tech Digital Printing
How They Work
Digital printing on CDs and DVDs involves pre-pressing artwork on a computer, transferring the image onto a thin film, applying the graphic to the disc (CD or DVD) and treating the image with an adhesion promoter.
Xeikon, a Belgian company, provides the five color dry toner laser print engine. The bonding process and specially designed printing equipment together provide a fully automated digital print system that produces approximately 200 printed discs per minute with photographic quality (600 dpi) resolution and 180 line screens.
We can use this process on both duplication (min. 100 units) and replication orders.
The unique advantages of digital printing
• 600 dpi - the highest resolution available
• No films, screens, plates, or ink
• No color-to-color registration problems
• Greatly reduced set up time
• 300,000 disc per day capacity
• Total customization - on each disc
Variable Data
We can now offer customized print for the surfaces of CDs, CD ROMS, DVDs, audio/visual media kits and more. Individualize printed surfaces with addresses, barcodes, pin numbers, unique photos and designs or graphics.
Each disc can be unique, from one to one million. CD tickets offer enough digital storage space to hold video and audio clips, digital images, or thousands of pages of text. If you are looking for individual customizing, CD tickets can open the door to creativity and the market for a whole new outlook.
CD Tickets
The National Hockey League used the CD ticket this past season with great success. Each season ticket holder was mailed a digitally printed direct to disc CD-ROM ticket. Each disc has a unique, readable barcode and is printed with individual seat, section and row number information. The tickets have two different photo collage covers of famous hockey players.
CD tickets have the ability to be used and read by any barcode reader. Large suppliers of tickets to sporting and entertainment events, like ticketmaster, have already approved of CD tickets. According to several ticket companies the CD tickets are twice as easy to read as paper tickets. With paper tickets, the ink has the tendency to bleed into the paper, but with CDs the ink toner adheres to the disc, making them easier to read from a distance.
The cost for CD tickets is very competitive, since they provide an additional revenue source for advertising and promotions that was not previously available. Presentation costs vary based on the levels of multimedia. Working with each client directly to set-up per-order pricing is important so we can meet your needs.
